April, 2011 Dear Rumson Resident: The Rumson Endowment Fund, a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit New Jersey corporation, was established by the Mayor and the Borough Council in 2000. The mission of the Endowment Fund is to support the needs of the Borough of Rumson by securing private sector resources to help finance worthwhile capital improvements, annual and special community events, and other purchases for our community that are beyond the scope of the Borough’s annual budget. The Endowment improves the quality of life for the residents of Rumson without relying on taxpayer dollars. It is governed by a committee of five members, two from the Borough Council and three from the general public, who all serve as volunteers. For the fourth consecutive year, the fabulous 2010 Independence Day fireworks display was made possible by donations to the Endowment. In 2011, we are again seeking your support and welcome your donations to help Rumson fund this year’s show with Garden State Fireworks. Our commitment deadline this year is May 15, 2011. The Endowment is a fine example of community involvement, and the 2011 Independence Day fireworks will be a spectacular event. Please give as generously as you can to ensure another great evening on the Navesink River, and a fitting tribute to such an important American Celebration.
